Q: Who can take the certification exam?
A: Only current Recording Arts students and graduates of MediaTech. This is a student/alumni support service and is not available to the general public.
Q: What study options are available?
A: Students and graduates may follow Avid’s official course path (Pro Tools 101, 110, 201, 210M, 210P). These are Avid-designed courses, not MediaTech classes. MediaTech’s role is to provide access and proctor exams.
Q: What do I receive if I pass the exam?
A: An official certificate from Avid, with optional listing in Avid’s Certified Professional directory and access to Avid’s branding/logos.
Q: What are the benefits of certification?
A: Avid certification demonstrates proficiency in Pro Tools and provides an industry-recognized credential. This is an Avid credential, not a MediaTech credential.
Q: Does certification expire?
A: No. Certification applies to a specific version of Pro Tools. Alumni may update certification through Avid as new versions are released.
