At MediaTech, you will have full access to industry-standard facilities and equipment. Our campuses have real sound stages with an array of digital film cameras and production support equipment. In addition, our acting school has professional recording studios. The unique environment here at MediaTech will give you the experiences and material you need to build your professional acting reel and voice-over reel. Plus you can do it all while collaborating and building professional relationships with your instructors, alumni, and peers.

INSTRUCTORS FOR ACTING CLASSES

MediaTech instructors are seasoned professionals who currently work in the production business. They are dedicated to giving you the skillsets, techniques, and confidence to audition and perform in a wide variety of real-world scenarios. Moreover, you’ll even learn how to get an agent and get the part!

ACTING FOR MEDIA DEGREE PROGRAM

60 Weeks (15 months) | 4 Semesters | 64 Credits

The Associate of Arts Degree in Acting for Media is designed to provide the student the skills necessary as an entry-level artist equipped for professional employment in the field of acting for film and television. The student will study various techniques of the different aspects of acting by gaining hands-on experience in real production environments. The program provides the student abundant opportunities for on-camera performance experience. Coursework is designed to develop the vocal and physical foundations of professional acting.

WHAT DO ACTING CLASSES INCLUDE?

Classes include movement, improvisation, and voice techniques. These core classes combined with the required general education courses provide a well-rounded education. Upon successful completion of this program, students will have received in-depth training for entry-level employment as an actor. In addition, students will have a working knowledge of casting, production, and the business of acting. Students graduate with a professional demo reel to showcase their performance abilities.

FINAL TERM OF ACTING FOR MEDIA DEGREE PROGRAM

In the final term of the Acting for Media degree program, it’s SHOWTIME! You utilize your newfound skills in every aspect of production, from acting to working on set. By combining the Acting for Media program with MediaTech’s Digital Film & Video Arts program, a real production company is born bringing all elements of movie-making to life. From business development/contract negotiations to distributions and exhibitions, you will be a part of the process of taking a movie from script to screen! Finally, you experience the excitement of walking down the red carpet at the premiere screening of your movie attended by friends, family, and industry professionals.

WHAT TYPE OF JOBS ARE AVAILABLE TO ACTING SCHOOL GRADUATES?

Graduates of the Acting in Media Associate of Arts Degree program can find entry-level employment as actors in productions ranging from commercials, music videos, corporate videos, tv shows, feature films, and live events. Students may also find entry-level production positions such as script supervisor, scriptwriter, stage manager, casting assistant, wardrobe assistant, and production assistant.
