Born in Mansfield, Louisiana, MediaTech Audio Instructor Nagaris Johnson is experienced in every field of audio engineering. He holds a number of MTI “firsts”: the first to complete the Diploma and Associate programs, the first to receive an Associate of Recording Arts degree, and the first Alumni Instructor. Nagaris also holds an Associate of Science Degree from North Central Texas College, and is on his way to receiving his BA in Art and Technology from University of Texas-Dallas. As Recording Engineer, he’s recorded everything from Grammy Award-winning bands such as Brave Combo to platinum-selling hip-hop legends such as Lil KeKe. As ADR engineer, he’s recorded over 100 episodes of anime for the largest global distributor of anime, Group1200 (aka FUNimation). Those shows include Puzzle and Dragons X, Tsuki ga kirei, and the hit Yuri!!! On Ice.
Some of the world’s best-known performers have laid vocals to his compositions, including French Montana, The Game, Young Dro, Paul Wall, E-40, Kataztrofee, J-Dawg, Black Tha Beast, Young Jeezy and many more. As Live Sound Engineer, he’s provided that service for major corporations, hotels, and city festivals across Dallas/Fort Worth. Clients include PSAV, Nascar, Toyota, Snap-On Tools, Marriott DFW, Texas Motor Speedway, City of Mansfield, City of Denton, and more. As Engineering Producer, he’s produced, recorded, and mixed albums, from major labels (Universal and Motown), to independent labels (such as Swishahouse, 713 Music, and TrofeeStyyle Records). Nagaris has also scored documentaries and licensed music for radio, television, and film advertising.
