Subject: Thank you!

Hey Mac,

First I just wanted to say thank you again for showing me how to become a live sound engineer, and explain in the fullest detail what it takes to succeed in this particular business. Literally everything I learned from you I have had to apply in a real life job application.

I have recently gone from intern to Audio contractor for a company up here in Colorado. The companies name is Brown Note Productions. We handle over 50% of all the Red Rocks shows every year as well as numerous large scale tours. In addition to that we handle any production opportunity that comes our way. It has on l been a couple of weeks into this paid position I am in, but i can tell, and so can my boss, that it won’t be too long before I am able to get on the next big tour. I never in my life thought I could be apart of something so much bigger than what i had ever imagined. This is truly the best opportunity I have found thus far within this industry and within the state.

I hope and I am sure that your classes are going well this semester. My advice to your students if they need any, would be to set the bar as high as you can, always ask constructive questions, always be early not on time, and write down everything. Oh and if you don’t understand the power equation or signal flow, then good luck to you.

You are truly a man of wisdom from beyond your years; with a cornucopia of knowledge to offer any eager and willing mind. Thank you again for bestowing said knowledge to me and though i continue to learn much much more, I can and will never forget who taught it to me first.

Here is a link to Brown Notes webpage in case you’re interested.

If you ever need anything from me don’t hesitate to ask.

Thanks for your time.
